This is my One-word topic essay on money:

To what extent of happiness can money buy? Money may be the dream of every person to have infinite amounts of, but yet there is something more priceless and a lot more valuable than money, and that is happiness.
Money may be important to our daily lives, which i do not deny that it isn't. It IS important for the survival of a person, and also controls how much we can enjoy in our lives. However, what use is all the money earned, when there is no happiness, wasting so much of a person's life just for the sake of earning money.
Earning money is a hard and a path fill with hardship and torture. If earning so much money and yet have no true happiness that comes from it, I would rather live a life of a poor person filled with happiness than enjoy a life of luxury but in loneliness and the lack of the essence of happiness. Although having both happiness and money is possible, but the chances of happening is too small, nearly insignificant, because to obtain money, a price of happiness must be paid for it.
What use is an infinite flow of money if the person that earned it can't finish spending it and enjoy it to the max? What can money buy? The things which it can buy for a person is just a life full of struggles to earn more money, and with no sense of total satisfaction, there is never a limit to the amount of money that a person wants to earn. Yet a bit of true happiness is enough to satisfy a person for a lifetime, and to me, I find that a life of poor with happiness is WAY better than a life full of struggle for money and luxury which ends up without true happiness in the entire life.
So money may bring us a life of riches with everything that a person wants to be satisfied, everything except happiness which is a price to pay for having a lot of money. Money would buy even a planet, yet happiness can't be bought with money.

There also the heresy people who needs other's support.

Favourite author:
My favourite author would be J.K. Rowling for the Harry Potter series. I find the series very inspiring and also makes me want to continue reading on. The series is also a fiction series, and I love to read fiction stories. This series written by this author is one of the best fiction stories i have read. The book also has some good vocab words which i can use and also certain phrases which would be good to use in exams and test. Also, reading her books would definitely improve my English standards and marks.
5 interesting facts (from wikipedia):
  1. first person to become a U.S.-dollar billionaire by writing books
  2. 1,062nd richest person in the world
  3. the 144th richest person in Britain.
  4. won many awards
  5. she believes in God, not magic

This week will be worse then the previous weeks of holidays since there would be camps and class chalets and gatherings, AND to top it off, i have not managed to clear a lot of homework especially online ones since my computer had just crashed and needed quite a lot of days to repair. In fact,
I have not even finished about half of my homework. So in order to finish it on time and not get scolded, I would have to bring homework where ever I go and start rushing it.

This week was just as tiring as last week. Having to manage completing homework and having to go back to school frequently and getting exhausted after reaching him, and yet need to have fun and hang out with friends. It really is hard to be able do these stuff for the whole of holidays, and I wonder if holidays are for us to relax or is it to just continue torturing us. Homeworks sure is hard and takes a lot of time to complete and I may have to resort to doing last minute homework marathon.

Since exams were over, I thought I could take things easy for a while, but yet when i started listing down the homework for the holidays, the stress comes back and I could have fainted looking at the list. The list was not very long, however, each assignment would take a lot of time (especially English). After i finish doing all the homework, I would probably have lost a few hundred thousand brain cells due to the completing of homeworks.

However, able to pass all subjects and overall was a huge surprise to me. I thought i would have failed quite a few. For the whole exam period, there was just huge amount of stress on the students. However, since now is the holidays, it is time to start to destress and forget about the exam period.

This is my Discursive Writing on Computer games addiction:

It has came to my attention that nowadays more students are going to "LAN shops" to play games. The students are now rushing out from their school gates and heading directly to these "LAN shops" in school uniform due to their addiction in gaming. Initially, the authorities had prevented students from going there in school uniforms but now these shops allow them to go in in uniform. I feel that there are certain advantages and disadvantages to addiction in computer games.
Firstly, the advantages to addiction in gaming. The advantages to gaming would be a way of relaxing from this harsh and cruel society and world. Addiction in computer games will cause these people to have a way of "avoiding" this world and society since they are able to find enjoyment in the games where as they cannot find that type of enjoyment in the real world. Addiction in gaming would also allow the person to let go of stress since they could relax and let go of issues while playing the games.
On the other hand, the addiction to gaming will cause a slip in the grades of the students since they waste so much time on gaming instead of on their studies. Also, students would find themselves having very little time to spend on other things and also a "huge hole" in their wallet. Subsequently, if a person simultaneously games, it would definately affect his/her vision and health problems. There are also many cases where some people over games and dies.
Therefore, i think that we should try and prevent addiction on gaming. The government should have control over the students going to these "LAN shops", however, i think that they should be allowed to enter the shop and play but there must be a limit on the time they are allowed to play. Also parents should control their children from over excessive gaming yet allow them to play and let off stress but not for too long.

There were just so many test this week. I could hardly scrap through every test and quiz. Some were just extrinsic questions which were not in the syllabus. I had to invalidate a couple of my answers and start from scratch! Teachers declaimed time was up and most of us had several questions left. We tried to fetter as much marks as we could in the last few seconds. This week was just tiring, I could have gained access to the hospital.

I had a grammar test and a feature article test this week. The grammar test was hard and i had to surmise some of the answers. However, there were some propitious questions which i knew the answers to. I knew that i would either fail or just pass my grammar test and ultimately it came down to the feature article.
The feature article was also hard but thanks to Mr Kek's teaching, it wasn't very cryptic. Because i had taken too long to think about it, I had to curtail my article due to time constrains. I hope I will be able to pass this test.

This is my journal for T1 W2:

Yesterday, my Chinese teacher had given us tons of homework which needed to be completed in a day. My friend Hock Lee was not happy with the teacher and said that he planned to make the teacher regret it. I thought that he quipped with me and dared him to do it. After a period, he shown me a comprehensive sketch on how to avoid the security cameras in the staff room.
I was impressed that he had managed to plan a route which could not be seen by the tight security. However, after knowing him for so long, I knew he would attempt to sneak in later but I also knew that it was fruitless to persuade him. Still, i tried to stop him since he was too rash in making his decision. He had insisted on going and pushed me away.
The next day, the school had put up a remuneration for anyone who knew anything about the stolen hand phone and the vandalised table for my Chinese teacher. I knew it was Hock Lee but i was confused on whether to tell the school or not. In the end, I made a decision which i thought would be the best for Hock Lee, which was to tell the school about him.

This is my feature article:

Do you know a gambling addicts or are you one yourself? Well i knew an uncle who was very addicted to gambling. My uncle spends all his free time at "private" gambling dens. He had used most of his paycheck at the gambling den and only won back around a third of his entire expenditure so far. He would sometimes be very happy if he had won more than he had lost on some days which just let to higher bets and bigger losses. However, now he is able to control the urge to gamble through some help.
Gamblers nowadays are doing things like embezzling company funds, stealing of money from their own relatives or making robberies. Gambling could be a factor for the the rise in crime rate this year. Most people will try to obtain money through any means to pay off their debt or just to "give" away these money to casinos or dens. Some gamblers will limit themselves to resonable amount of money they can spend there. They would leave the gambling place after they reach the limit they had set. Others may had set a limit but when they reached their limit, they would desire for more and ignore their own limit and continue to play. Gamblers who run up to huge amounts of debt tend to turn to "big ear longs"(loansharks). When they get the money, they would pay back a portion of it and try to win back the amount they lost again with the remainder of the money. However, this would make them lose the amount they had borrowed and the loansharks will take horrible actions if the gambler is unable to pay back. Even after being threatened, some gamblers will still continue gambling away money instead of earning it back through labour. This shows the damage an addiction to gambling could cause.
So gambling could be a way to relax and perhaps by luck win some money, but there would be risks and losses and the gambler's life could be in danger. If you know someone who is addicted to gambling, advise them to seek help to cease this addiction. If they are able to stop the urge, they will be able to control their losses and not just wasting all their time and money on gambling.
